Which surnames are you researching?

Hiller/Hillier, Amy

Comments:

Began this search from a couple of old obituaries I inherited from my grandmother. My great grandfather is John Arnold Hillier b. ? Apr.1889 in Bath. my great aunt Grace hillier, his sister, mention is made of being born in Odessa, Ont, Can and their parents are Robert and Helenore Amy Hillier. Grace was born Feb.1886. the 3d is my 2nd great grandmother,Mrs. Robert Hillier b 18 Dec. 1866 in Bath. no mention of her parents or first name. I believe her parents were Arnold Amy and Eliza Hopkins. She had 3 older bros possibly. Robert I believe to be the 6th child of a John Hiller/Hillier Jr and julia A Brown. Still not certain of 2nd gr grandmother's name. She has been found as Nellie,Ellen Helen and lastly Helenore. I believe the families may have been UEL. The Hiller/Hilliers gravitated to Amsterdam, NY USA in the 1880's.My gr-grandfather, great aunt and 2nd gr grandmother died in Amsterdam, NY. They may have been Methodists up there. Hiller stated German and Weslayan methodist.

Hi all
we have just purchased this property and would be very interested in knowing more about it...The house we were told was built in 1855...and the Garage was built in May 1889...was once a large farm as the barn is at the top of the hill...no longer part of the property...what a view of the Bay!...we also heard that a small boy died on the road after sliding down the road and was hit by an car?
If anyone has some stories...history we are very interested in knowing more.
e-mail please to sparky382004@hotmail.com

Which surnames are you researching?

Huffnail, Carnahan

Comments:

I am trying to locate where my great great great grandfather, Thomas Casey Carnahan is buried. He was born 1824 in Adolphustown and died December 15, 1896 in North Fredericksburgh. He was the son of Aaron Carnahan and Sarafina Sickles. He married Jane Elizabeth Huffnail March 17, 1846 in Bath. Great great great grandmother Jane died Sept. 14, 1872 and was buried in the United Church Cemetery in Adolphustown. I am having no luck locating her husband, Thomas. If anyone is researching this family perhaps you might be able to point me in the right direction! Any help will be very gratefully received! Thanks so much!

Wow!!! Fantastic site. Tons of great transcriptions.

I am researching Camp Le Nid. The Camp was established by W. S. Herrington 1n 1886 on Ruttan's point, owned by the Ruttan family from the time of the original U.E.L. land grants to 1920/21. I am most interested in anything related to the Camp, but am also interested in details of the Ruttan family or the subsequent owners, the Plesteds. I am a descendant of Philip Roblin UE and so have and interest in Roblins as well....

2. In birth/baptisms section of this website I found an entry for a David Heen, b. 1807, parents George and Sally. Where did this baptism take place and who baptized him? Also is there any other information about Heen/Hane families in this area during this time period 1800-1820? Thanks.
