Gravestone Cleaning

St. Alban's Cemetery Adolphustown

10 a.m. -
12 p.m. & 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Learn how to safely and effectively clean
gravestones.
AFHS members will be on hand to demonstrate
cleaning techniques.
Come and watch, or participate by choosing one
of the many stones in need of cleaning to
try your hand at revealing the hidden stories
currently obscured by the passage of time.
Tools will be provided, but more of us can
participate if you bring your own:
scrubbing brush with stiff plastic bristles
plastic scraper (putty knife)
spray bottle
and LOTS of water!
Note: This can be a messy job, so dress
accordingly.
Rubber gloves are recommended.
To allow as many people as possible to
participate,
we suggest choosing either a morning or an
afternoon session.
That being said, this is a non-structured
event,
so drop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
to join us.
Please park at the adjacent St. Alban's
Centre.
